Oh, that's a thing I guess. It's a thing and it happens every year as it turns out as dates often roll around.

Tell me a little about it. I know it's a thing but I don't know why it's a thing on this particular date. It's a thing on this particular date.

It's a thing.

So this is the international day of the air traffic controller,

not the national day of the air traffic controller

and not National Aviation Day.

And it's also not International Aviation Day. So now that we've got that set aside, I hope you're ready to learn.

This date. So the International Day of the Air Traffic

controller and congratulations and happy day to all of our air traffic

controller listeners. It is the anniversary so the day October 20th of October.

And the 20th of October, 1961 is the day of the founding of the International Federation

of Air Traffic Controllers Associations.

So it's the Association of Associations of Air Traffic Controllers was founded in 1961 and things have changed a bit for traffic control ever since and they continue to change

I think I guess more rapidly in the past few years so I guess it's both as we talked about last episode a very frustrating time to be

an air traffic controller but I suppose also a very exciting time to be an air
