Hello pod, I'm Chris Hewitt and welcome to the most bizarre Empire podcast special to date.

When the new trainer for Avengers Infinity War hit the internet today, there was much

screen with excitement, not least for myself and my colleague of such lethal cunning and fellow MCU fan Helen O'Hara.

Then that screen turned to sadness because we realized Helen was going to wear a holiday tomorrow and wouldn't be around to wax

lyrical about the trailer on this week's Empire podcast. So then we came up with a simply capital idea. I'm off sick at the moment with

Manthulu, I'm sure you can hear it in my voice, I'm a death store. Helen lives just around the corner relatively speaking. So she popped around to record some

thoughts which we would then broadcast on Friday's regular podcast. All well and good, except we got a little bit carried away and basically ended up recording our thoughts on the trailer shot for shot. So that's what you're about to hear.

We thought it would work best as a self-contained special and pretty much it's a win-win basically. Those of you who don't like us banging on about Marvel on the regular podcasts, just stop listening, stop listening now and you will get to avoid that.

And those of you who do like us banging on about Marvel on the regular podcasts will get their fill here as Helen and I speculate wildly on the ramifications of virtually everything you see in the trailer from Spidey's new suit to the significance of Wakanda and the glory of Captain America's beat.

And you know what, it's all just a bit of fun. And if you're wondering how we managed to do a 30 minute podcast on a two and a half minute trailer, you ain't seen nothing yet. I reckon the Avengers Infinity War split a special podcast will be roughly a week long. Anyway, that's enough for me.

You can you can squeeze I can't I can't squeeze. So what we may do with this, we may put it up as our thing or we may put this in the podcast.

But you're about to go in holiday. So we thought we would convene we live close to each other. So here we are. I need a few days off to recover for trailer.

Yeah, yeah, you had actually booked a holiday. How do you know?

That's for that's for damn sure he's had in there with this big stupid bulbous purple head. So it's fair to say this trailer had quite a bit of buildup.

I don't think I've seen a buildup to a trailer like this on Twitter for a while. Anyway, with people going nuts, you and I were amongst those people obviously.

Obviously. And they kept us waiting dread the premiered it on good morning American the States and then I hit the internet immediately.

And what are your thoughts? Overall as a trailer notwithstanding the squee. I mean the squeeing is is a large part of my thoughts. It's driving out my thoughts. I don't really have any thoughts left.
