Hey, really glad you're with us for the Friday edition of the Three Martini Lunch.

Yes, we made it to the end of another week together.

We have two good Martinis for you also, as well as a crazy and potentially bad third

and Martini.

But we'll get to that in due time.

Jim, our good Martini today is that Michael Avenatti is headed to prison because he's

a criminal.

Politico, Michael Avenatti, the brash California lawyer who once represented Stormy Daniels

in lawsuits against President Trump, was sentenced Thursday to two and a half years in prison

for trying to extort up to $25 million from Nike by threatening the company with bad

publicity.

Avenatti, 50, was convicted of charges including attempted extortion and honest services fraud

in connection with his representation of a Los Angeles youth basketball organizer who

got upset that Nike hit and it's a league sponsorship.

So Jim Avenatti is not probably getting the amount of media attention.

We would have expected that when we saw stories a couple days ago that the sentencing was

coming up on Thursday, there are even some media outlets who said California lawyer who

opposed Trump faces sentencing as if they're trying to distance themselves from the love

fast that they had for this guy when he was representing Stormy Daniels in his suits against

...
