Hey guys, welcome to episode 73 of the JV club podcast, a podcast created by and featuring

Janet Varnie and some marvelous guests.

No reason for me to give that much explanation. But you know what? What if? What if someone's

listened to every single episode and for some reason they were unclear on what it was

that they were listening to? I just like to take care of mepeps, my janitors as it were.

So hey I just, guys I'm so, I'm like, I can't stop thinking about this old this American life podcast

episode that I was just listening to about a half an hour before I started

recording the syndrome.

It's an old episode called Frenemies.

And there is, it's a great episode in general.

And for obvious reasons, even just based on the name alone of the podcast episode, I'm sure you can

understand why it's of interest to me with the kind of stuff that we talk about on this

podcast, but David Rakoff, who's someone that they have used many times

and who I believe has since passed, wrote this beautiful piece about a wedding toast and I'm just so moved by it I just

loved it and I encourage you to listen to that episode he writes in rhymed couplets and that gives a

specific flavor in and of itself. But anyway I don't know it was just something I'm

thinking about and thinking that I bet you guys would enjoy that episode and in particular that part which I think

is Act 3 of that podcast episode.

As if this American life needs any more shout-outs on in media, everyone knows that they're like a darling,

but for good reason.

It's a great podcast, great radio show,

and a great television show.
