Many parts of the world have been described as post-Christian. This is a reference to a legacy of strong Christian values that's no longer

embraced by contemporary culture. Post-Christian countries are often known for their

majestic cathedrals that pierce the sky, but those beautiful structures are nothing more than relics of ancient history.

In fact, post-Christian cathedrals are often devoid of worshippers on Sunday mornings.

Today, on Insight for Living, Chuck Chuck Windall presents a cautionary message on how to guard

our churches against spiritual decay. He titled today's message, Autopsy of a dead church.

You have a Bible with you,

you have a Bible with you, please to revelation chapter 3. I would like to read for you

the first six verses as we continue to work our way through our study of the revelation.

This is about a dead church located in the city of Sardis,

the fifth in a list of seven churches addressed in the second and third

chapters of revelation. Revelation 3.1. To the angel of the church in Sardis, right. He who has the seven spirits of God and

the seven stars says this, I know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.

Wake up and strengthen the things that remain which were about to die for I have not found your deeds

completed in the sight of my God so remember what you have received and heard and keep it and repent.

Therefore, if you do not wake up,

I will come like a thief

and you will not know at what hour I will come to you.

But you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their garments and they will walk with me in

white for they are worthy. He who overcomes will thus be

clothed in white garments and I will not erase his name from the Book of Life and I will confess his name before my father and

before his angels.
