Jerry in his update talking about the ABS system, which is this automatic balls and strikes that they're going to be using in Major League Baseball for the first time this year in the challenge system and how there were some issues, of course, in spring training and umpires getting a lot of these wrong and all these challenges.

Now, what I really can't understand is you've got the technology. Why does it have to be a

challenge system? And then on top of it, if the umpires are getting this many wrong, it's just

going to be incredibly intrusive. And then also, if you run out of these challenges, and I know

that that's part of the strategy of it, but now we're still talking about a similar situation, which is you could be laid in a game and can be called out on strikes on what is a ball, and the system won't even be used when you have the system, which is just stupid.

So give me the reason why you've got this system and you just don't use it for every

single pitch.

The umpire can stand there.

The umpire still has to make calls at home plate.

You know, he still has to throw balls back to the pitcher.

He still has a job.

They're not eliminating the jobs like the toll takers, you know, with easy pass.

It's not happening.

There is no reason to just dip your toe into the water when the technology is there and make it a challenge system.

Just have it right every single time.

You know, and the TV broadcast now will no longer have the strike box

up on the screen because they don't want this to create controversy with the fans watching the game,

which is really, which is really amazing. And I personally think that they have to get used to it. That's why you're doing, you're seeing a lot of it in spring training. And it personally think that they have to get used to it.

That's why you're seeing a lot of it in spring training.

And it's good that they're trying to work this stuff out.

And it may force the umpires to be better umpires.
