You are going to be hearing, and I think it's a rare privilege from one of the most distinguished

officers in CIA.

And Jack was distinguished specifically in the area of operations,

clandestine or covert operations.

And he has, as you you know done a book called Good Hunting which is as good a

description I know of the sort of work that we did in looking for sources.

Okay. Jack was in the agency for 32 years. He had a variety of assignments as a case officer, a street officer, if you will, and worked his way up at one

point chief of the Latin American Division, head of the Counter Narcotic Center.

He headed the CIA's Afghan task force, what Hollywood calls Charlie Wilson's war, was in part

Jack Devine's war.
