The original title that I had proposed for the TED Talk was authenticity at work is a trap.

Like, it's a lie.

So what I wanted to express with that is it sounds really great, but in practice, especially for black people, it is the detriment to your career.

So I will say this.

I started my work by trying to envision what my life could look like if I woke up every day and just did what I wanted.

And so in short, for me, that's how I describe my work.

Everything that I do is because I want to do it, and it's important to me.
