So Derek Ernest Percy was born on September 15th, 1948 in Strathfield, New South Wales, Australia. And since he was born just after World War

2, right? So we've gone over the history of the world around that time quite a lot. So we'll skip

it this time and get right into the story. Now, Derek's parents were Ernest and Elaine Percy. I couldn't really find much regarding either

parents' past in my time researching. We know that Ernest worked as a railway electrician,

fixing wiring within the trains, replacing lights, whatever was needed. I did read that Ernest was considered highly intelligent.

Elaine was a housewife and mother, which was the most common thing for women back in the 40s,

perfectly respectable, of course. Now, Derek was their first born child, and he was, and would remain very close with his mother.

Then just before he turned two, a little brother was born. And he was and would remain very close with his mother.

Then just before he turned two, a little brother was born.

Once Derek was old enough to begin kindergarten, Ernest and Elaine had baby number three,

another boy.

Within the next year, the baby would die from diphtheria, which is a serious, potentially fatal,
