It is me talking to Brendan Byrne.

Technically, His Excellency, the Ambassador, Brendan Byrne.

So he's Australia's ambassador to France.

And the reason that's a bit different is because, firstly, I didn't do it in the studio.

I went to his residence.

And secondly, it's very rare that I've done an episode from someone's apartment before. And when I say apartment, it's not really an apartment, it's more of a, well, he lives in the embassy on the top floor. So when I went there, I had to go through all the security. I had to, it was very formal. We had a tea. You know, it was just a whole different experience. It was great. It was really fun.

And we talk, as you were about to hear, we talk all about Australia, we talk about Paris, we talk about

what it is to be an ambassador. We talk about all sorts of things. You're about to hear.

But a little bit of context. If you'd never heard of the ambassador, the Australian ambassador of France,

let me explain a little bit about him that you're going to hear in this episode. He went very

viral a few months back when he proposed to his partner right after gay marriage was made

legal in Australia. And so he did it in this one take video in the same apartment where we

recorded this interview. And he just talked to the camera so I'm going to go propose to my partner,

walked off, did it. It went viral. It went everywhere. It was at a time when everybody was

celebrating this big step for Australia. The French people, everyone in Paris really loved it.

It was in all the newspapers

that went around the world. And yeah, we talk a bit about that. So if you don't know what we're
