Hello and welcome to this week's episode of Who Killed, the Presser of the Week.

I'm your host to Bill Huffman, and this is a Slow Burn Media, Evergreen Podcasts, and Killer Podcasts production.

This week, we are going to the great state of Texas for a press conference on the shooting spree that took place earlier this week.

As with all these episodes, these are real tragedies with real people whose lives have been

changed forever due to the actions of this one spree shooter.

According to KX-A-N, Shane James 34 is the suspect in a series of shootings that killed

six people and wounded three others in Austin,

and this is according to the Austin police.

He was arrested early Wednesday morning and charged with the capital murder of multiple people,

and that is according to Travis County jail records.

A law enforcement source told KXAN Wednesday that James does not seem to have any link to the victims

in Austin and that the violent incidents appear to be random. The source of the investigation is

ongoing. Among the injured were an Austin Independent School District Officer and an Austin

police officer who both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

According to interim chief Robert Robin Henderson,

the suspect is allegedly responsible for multiple shootings in Austin and San Antonio on Tuesday.

The first incident occurred on Shadywood Drive in South Austin, where two people were killed.

The second incident involved shooting an AISD officer at Northeast Early College High School.

The third incident took place on Austro-Loop in the Circle C neighborhood where two more people,

Catherine and Lauren short, were fatally shot and an APD officer,
