0:13.3	Welcome to our August Reflections and Corrections episode.
0:16.7	Let's start with the reflections.
0:18.6	We just finished our 29th book of the Bible and we're currently working our way through
0:22.2	two others.
0:23.2	So let's get the 30,000 foot view on where we are in the chronological timeline of the
0:27.4	Bible's overall meta-narrative.
0:30.0	The Bible is one unified story.
0:32.1	Way back in Genesis, God set out to build a relationship with one particular family, but
0:36.3	things go terribly wrong when they fracture the relationship through sin.
0:39.6	But their sin doesn't surprise God.
0:41.9	He already had a plan in place to restore this relationship even before it was broken,
0:46.4	and he continues working out that plan immediately, undeterred and unhindered by their
0:50.8	rebellion.
0:51.8	He sets apart a man named Abraham to be the patriarch of the family God calls the Israelites.
0:56.6	There are a bunch of sinners just like all of us.
0:58.8	God blesses them despite their sin, but sin still has its consequences.
1:03.2	One of the long storylines of consequence is of the 400 years they spent enslaved in
1:07.4	Egypt.
1:08.8	God sends a man named Moses to demonstrate his power to the Egyptian ruler, who reluctantly
1:13.2	agrees to let the Israelites slaves go.
1:15.6	They flee to the desert, led by God and his servant Moses, and then little by little,
