Summary

I'm sitting down with Tony Wheeler, the co-founder of Lonely Planet who revolutionised travel guides with his iconic 1970s journey, Across Asia on the Cheap.

Tony has now completed a dream trek through southern England, walking the entire length of the River Thames, from its source to the heart of London.

1:12.0

different ballgame. You've got the locks with the canal boats and the locks are autumn really

1:17.0

beautiful. Lock keepers are a bit like lighthouse keepers. They've got something they want to do and

1:22.6

they do it very well. I should explain that we're actually returning from the very final segment that you have

1:29.1

walked because you've done it in not necessarily all in complete order. So this last bit was

1:34.0

Marlowe to maidenhead and we're now on the Elizabeth line heading back into London. You've done it
