I'm Ian Masters, and today we'll examine a number of stories and issues in the

news. We'll begin with a lawless president and he's lackey, the Attorney General, acting in the

name of law and order to take over the nation's capital in a way that tin pot dictators send

their military into the streets as a show of force. In response to the mugging of Musk's doge sidekick Big Balls, Trump is using

the mugging as an excuse to federalize law enforcement, sideline the DC police, as he hints

at further moves on Democratic cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, but not Republican cities that have much higher

crime rates. Joining us is a resident of Washington, D.C., Adele Stan, an independent journalist and

longtime chronicler of the right wing of U.S. politics, a winner of the Hillman Prize in

opinion and analysis journalism. Her work has appeared in Mother Jones, the nation, the New Republic, and the American

prospect, as well as on the op-ed pages of the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.

She has an article to democracy journal, The New American Fascists.

Then, with the rift between IDF generals and Netanyahu growing, as Israel's

Prime Minister orders the reoccupation of Gaza City and as more of Israel's allies call for a

Palestinian state, we'll speak with Dr. Gai Ziv, a professor at the Department of Foreign

Policy at American University School of International Service, and an associate director of the Meltzer-Schwarzburg Center for Israel Studies

where he teaches courses on U.S. Israel relations and Israeli-Palestinian peacemaking.

He has worked in the United States Department of State on Capitol Hill

and for leading non-profit organizations that promote American involvement

in Israeli-Palestinian peacemaking, and is the author of Why Hawks Become Doves, Shimon Peres,

and Foreign Policy Change in Israel. And his latest book is Netanyahu versus the Generals,
