And today I'm continuing with another story about one of our psychedelic elders, Diane DePrima.

That's the name you should know if you're interested in the history of how psychedelics began

to seep into the mainstream.

But I want to be clear about the story you're about to hear.

This is a work of fiction.

Although it's based on what facts I can dig up, nonetheless, it's a product of my imagination.

Diane DePrima was a real person, though, a poet, a publisher.

The events and conversations in this audiobook are products of my imagination.

The same goes for the other historical figures who appear in these pages,

Alan Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, Timothy, Larry, Janice Joplin, Gary Snyder, and others.

I've taken the liberty of putting words in their mouths and thoughts in their heads.

Words and thoughts that they may never have spoken or even considered.

That's how fiction works.

Now, why the focus on Diane DePriam?

Well, for 20 years, I've been producing the Psychedelic Salon podcast, exploring the intersection of consciousness, culture, and transformation.

Over those two decades and nearly 800 episodes, I've come to understand something fundamental.

The psychedelic revolution wasn't just about substances and celebrities. It was about a community of voices, poets, artists, philosophers, and rebels who insisted that

human consciousness could evolve beyond the limitations imposed by consensus reality.

Diane was one of those voices, a very important one, I should say.
