people dot com forward slash blog. With that let's get started. Geek in on Greece. I haven't addressed Greece enough on the blog or in the

podcast and that's partially because although it has great historical importance

the country hasn't made great headway has great

headway in producing stunning wines that are easy to find.

I know they're out there, but they aren't on shelves everywhere

or even on Greek restaurant lists the places I find have the best selection of unique wines to try.

So if they're hard to get and not stunning, why bother addressing Greece? I'll give you three reasons. One, this is one of the

early mecca of wine production. The Greeks have loved wine for millennia, therefore

to love wine you have to love the Greeks.

2, although I can't pronounce most of this stuff

the native grapes are pretty damn good

and certainly worth a try to change up your drinking routine.

3. If the producers can stay on track, these wines

show enormous potential for depth of flavor and structure and are excellent food and

sipping wines. So if I can give you a bit of background you'll be ahead of the trend by at least knowing they're out there.

Let's start with the legacy of wine and Greece. Puritanical teetotling ways of the modern world were completely unheard of during the reign of the Greeks.

I guess people had more important things to think about back then like survival and

overthrows of vampires of empires and stuff.
