Summary

Welcome to The Auburn Podcast, your daily Auburn sports podcast presented by Auburn Undercover and hosted by Zac Blackerby. On the show Thursday, Blackerby is joined by Brandon Marcello, sports editor of Auburn Undercover, for the second day in a row. The guys talk about where wide receivers should be ranked regarding the top player on Auburn football’s team entering the 2018 season. The guys also talk about the offensive line and what the starting lineup should be for the big men up front. Use the following time marks to navigate the podcast: Start of the show: Blackerby and Marcello talk about Eli Stove and the role he is leaving empty. While he has shown explosive plays in the past, Blackerby is skeptical of his ability to affect the passing game from beyond the line of scrimmage. They also touch on Aussie rules punter, Arryn Sipposs and Blackerby defends why he has him so high in his rankings. 7-minute mark: The guys talk about Auburn’s defensive backfield and how it should be fine despite being unproven. While the Tigers lost several leaders at cornerback and safety, they seem to have depth entering the 2018 season. 9-minute mark: Blackerby and Marcello agree on where Auburn quarterback Malik Willis should come in on preseason rankings. He lost some hype during the spring. The guys agree that his role should stay about where it was last season despite his athleticism. 13-minute mark: Both analysts believe in Auburn running back turned receiver Devan Barrett. He has shown that he has talent. Once he gets a shot to be featured in the Auburn backfield, he could thrive in the SEC. End of the show: Blackerby asks Marcello what he has heard about the offensive linemen. Both uys talk about who they believe will be the starting five upfront for the Tigers.
