And following along, we are beginning in Virginia for the trial of a father, facing life in prison,

charged with killing his wife and another man with the help of his family's au pair.

Brendan Banfield denies orchestrating an elaborate catfishing scheme in order to kill his wife, Christine.

But the biggest witness against him yet took the stand today, the Opaire, Juliana Magalais.

Prosecutors say Brendan and Juliana conspired together to lure a random man named Joseph Ryan from a fetish website to have a violent sexual encounter with Christine.

The prosecution says it was a staged attempt to make it look like Ryan had stabbed Christine

and that they had to shoot Ryan in self-defense.
