Welcome to Court of Opinion. I'm Julia Jinnay. Thank you for joining us. A jury in Virginia listened to a second day of testimony today from a family's opair turned co-defendant. The defendant that is on trial is Brendan Banfield. He's accused of being the mastermind of an elaborate murder plot to kill his wife by luring a man that he found on a fetish dating website to his house.

Prosecutors say he and the family's live-in nanny, Juliana Magla Hayes.

They were having an affair and that she helped him plot the murders.

From there, prosecutors say Banfield staged the scene to make it look like this other man.

Joseph Ryan stabbed his wife and that Banfield only shot him in self-defense.

But the co-defendant O'Pair, she took the stand to expose her former lover's plan as part of a plea deal that the defense is calling a sweetheart deal.
