Yes, Dr. McGing Kessler, M-E-G-H-A-N-K-E-S-L-E-R.

And what is your profession?

I'm an assistant chief medical examiner, also known as a forensic pathologist.

And what is a forensic pathologist?

A forensic pathologist is a type of doctor who is specialized in pathology, which is the study of disease,

and then further subspecialized in forensics, which is the study of disease as it relates to

law and medicine. And where do you work? I worked for the Commonwealth of Virginia,

office of the chief medical examiner at the Northern District Office in Manassas.

And how long have you been with that office?

Approximately nine and a half years now.

And where did you work before you joined the Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner?

Just prior to coming to work in Virginia, I completed a fellowship program with the state of

Maryland.

And what is your educational background?

I have a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Richmond.

I graduated from medical school from the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine.

I completed anatomic pathology residency program with Penn State, after which I completed

a subspecialty fellowship in forensic pathology with the state of Maryland Office of the

Chief Medical Examiner and became board certified in anatomic pathology and forensic pathology.
