Good morning, ma'am. Can you please state and spell your name for the court record? It's Terry Leach, T-E-R-R-Y, L-E-A-C-H. How are you currently employed? I was a Fairfax County Police. Are you assigned to a particular unit? Yes, ma'am. What do you do for that unit? I'm a detective with a major crimes, crime scene unit. All right. How long have you held that position? I've been with a crime senior unit for 22 years with the last eight and a half in major crimes. All right. Were you employed in that role on February 24, 2023? Yes, ma'am. Okay. On that date, did you respond to an incident at Stablebrook Way? Yes, ma'am. Approximately, what time did you arrive? It was approximately 9.44 a.m. All right.

And who was on scene when you arrived, if you recall?

When I got on the scene, there was several patrol units, homicide detectives.

From my unit, there was Detective Falk, Detective Fortner, Sergeant Fortner now,

and Detective Semenski and myself.

All right.

What was your role in this investigation?

I was assigned as the lead crime scene detectives.

And what are the general responsibilities of a lead crime scene detective?

The lead crime scene detectives is the primary liaisons between the crime scene section and the lead homicide detective.

We're also responsible for managing the scene, delegating out task.

We also work if there's any needs for any more personnel or equipment.

We go with our supervisors.

And after we clear scenes, we're responsible for all the evidence handling,

documentation.

If there's any lab submissions or anything like that, we take care of it. And that roll carries through to today, right? Yes, ma'am. All right, so if we want evidence, it's coming from you. Is that correct? Yes, ma'am. Okay. Thank you. When you entered the Bainfield's primary bedroom on that day, February 24th, 2023, what were your initial observations?

When you first go into the bedroom on your left-hand side would be the, I call it a sitting area.

It's like a little side room. We're separated from the main bedroom area by a see-through fireplace.

In the main room, you had a bed and it had a nice stand on each side.

To the immediate right would be a long dresser with a TV on top of it. On the far wall was a

tall dresser. On the same wall as the dresser with a TV was the double doors that led into

the primary bathroom, which then had a closet off a bit.
