Good evening everybody and welcome to Outward and Leish 1 on 5.

It's been a whirlwind week for Russell Brand News and we have a slew of guests coming

on tonight.

I think about a dozen or so, mostly to talk about Russell Brand in our Russell Brand round

table panel discussions, which are going to go on for the next two plus hours.

So we're going to have a variety of viewpoints and we're going to be taking your questions live

and we're going to start out looking at Stephen Knight's sub-stack, which is focused

on the it's called the Knight Report and the headline this week is why Russell Brand's

YouTube channel was really demonetised and why was it really demonetised, Stephen?

Well, I think a lot of people think big conglomerates like YouTube might have some sort

of ethical backbone or principles, it's completely untruthy care about money and that's

the bottom line and they're not kind of grandstanding on principle with these allegations

against Russell Brand.

What they've noticed is that if they keep allowing him to make money on their platform,

a lot of the big advertisers, you know, your big car companies, your big drinks companies

might just say, if you keep putting our adverts on the videos of a man who's been accused

of some very serious crimes, we'll pull our partnership with you and you won't get any money.

Because as you know, as we all know, if you spend a little bit of time on YouTube,

YouTubers get a tiny little fraction of the advertising revenue from their videos,

the lion's share of it goes into the pocket of YouTube themselves.

So Russell Brand, at the minute, kind of represents a bit of a threat to their wallet

if nothing else.
