Good evening, President Trump today continued his assault on mail-in voting, making a case

for which he has no evidence.

Let's be clear.

The burden to proof is on him and his allies, and as you'll see, none exists.

This lie that the president is pushing, it matters because he's now setting the stage

to contest an election based on a claim with no evidence.

Two days ago, the president was asked a very simple question, would he commit to a peaceful

transfer of power if he loses the election?

Any president could answer that question because any president should be versed in American

history and democracy.

He would not commit to that, however.

He said, quote, well, we're going to see what happens.

And then he doubled down on that the very next day.

And so now we're seeing the administration's top spokesperson, try to justify or alter

what the president said or excuse it.

And they're using the same phrase, a sidestep, any question that they're asked about why

this guy won't commit to this basic principle of American democracy.

What we want to make sure of is that we have a free and safe and fair election.

The president will accept the results of a free and fair election.

We believe he'll win on November 3rd and with a free and fair election.

So yes or no, you will accept the election results if they come down the day or the day

after election day.
