Good evening, everybody. Welcome to the show. Got a great show plan. We're going to be talking a little bit about attachment styles.

Talked about it before, important to hit because it's really good if we all know what our attachment style is. It's a loose working concept, but it helps us understand who we are, what to expect.

But more importantly, drum roll, what our work is within relationships.

So what is this whole attachment thing that people talk about?

Basically, based on all the relationships we've had, starting with our early lives, and then

every relationship that occurs after, we start to develop an internal working model, which

means expectations.

We develop expectations that we project onto current and future partners based on our

historical experiences, meaning every relationship we've been a part of sets us up, sets us up

to expect certain things from our current and future

partners, positive and negative.

If we've had a lot of issues with trusting people consistently being let down, well,

understandably, we are going to assume and expect more of that.

Now, we want to understand our attachment style so that we can not buy into our thinking.

There's so much to say about this.

A lot of discussion and research on the difference between intuition versus trauma.

A lot of people confuse those two things.

They'll say, oh, well, you know, this is what I'm seeing.

This is what I'm thinking. This is what I'm thinking.

This is what I'm feeling.

I got to listen to my gut.

I got to listen to my intuition.
