look to the past? Why not give ourselves permission to sit down with the authors of

the biggest books of the last few decades.

So we're launching a new series, which will be available right here in the next Big Idea

feed that we're calling Next Big Idea Classics.

Here's the plan.

Every few weeks we're going to have on the show the author of a classic book,

one that changed the conversation when it first came out and has since stood the test of time.

We're going to ask these authors why this book,

something happened here. You touched on something profoundly true or

profoundly useful, something that changed lives, or changed the way we see

ourselves. Why did it have such an impact and crucially is it still relevant?

Today we're kicking off this new series with what may be the best-selling non-fiction book of the last decade.

A book that was Amazon's top-seller last year, despite being five years old.

A book that has sold over 15 million copies. That's one every 11 seconds. The book is Atomic

Habits, written by a guy named James Clear. And it's a book that embarrassingly I only just got around to reading. But let me

tell you folks it's a good thing that I did because I am as alert

listeners of the show know a fixer-upper.
