Summary

Cynisca (c. 440 BCE) was the first woman to ever win an event at the Olympic Games. By exploiting a loophole in the rule that only men could participate in the games, she paved the way for the woman Olympians of today.

1:10.6	This stadium was the birthplace of the games. Of course that's just mythology. Historical
1:17.5	records date the first Olympic Games to 776 BC. Athletes competed, totally nude in events like Discus and javelin throwing, foot races, and wrestling.
1:28.2	Ritual sacrifices to the gods were part of the festivities, and only men were allowed to compete.
