I dealt with that breakdown by buying as much music from 2016 as I possibly could.

As a result, I now own over 600 albums that came out in 2016, and I'm convinced it's the greatest year for music of all time.

But it's not enough me being convinced. I also want to convince each

and every single one of you, plus a guest every single week. I want to send them an album in advance.

my guest is Athena Cabellon, and we're going to be talking about Frank Ocean's sophomore album, Blonde.

Blonde was one of the biggest albums of 2016.

It was one of the most highly anticipated as well.

Since his debut album, Channel Orange, in 2012, people were begging for a follow-up.

He eventually dropped Blonde and it surpassed expectations.

So it's most people's album of the year, Pitchfork's album with a decade, a lot of other people's album with the decade.

That's the way every day goes. Every time we've no control. If the sky is pink and wide, if the

ground is black and yellow. This album already has been covered vastly by many different

podcasts, many different publications. But look, I've got to add it to the mix. I love this album.

I'd love every track on it,

apart from that weird Facebook monologue in the middle,

but I don't think that counts as a track.
