Summary

If I was an atheist, I would be logically compelled to conclude we have no true purpose, no ultimate meaning, and no genuine morality, beauty, or value. I’m not alone in this view. Many atheists have made the same devastating conclusion. Interestingly, this seems to push against common human perception and my own incredibly strong intuitions of these things (it most likely goes against yours, as well). This alone is a strong reason to challenge atheism. On the other hand, Christians have a clear purpose, meaning, and concepts of morality, beauty, and value. My website: https://BibleThinker.org

I believe the purpose of our lives for all people, whether they are Christian or not.

You can have self-determined purposes.

0:32.8

I'm going to purpose to do this or that, but there's no way to measure whether that's

0:36.4

your real purpose, like your creative purpose or not.

0:40.2

You could think of the analogy of a hammer.

0:42.5

If I make a hammer, it's designed to hammer nails in among other things.

0:48.4

So its purpose is to hammer and nails pull them out, do that sort of thing.

0:52.4

That's its actual purpose because I have intent when I made it.

0:56.8

But let's say that something very much like a hammer just sort of accidentally fell

1:00.6

together in the forest.

1:03.0

Would it have a purpose, even if it looked identical to a hammer?

1:05.8

Would it have a purpose the way the hammer does?

1:08.4

I know it would have things that's good at, but it wouldn't have purpose in the same sense.

1:13.9

It could, and if you made it a smart, if you made it smart, this pseudo hammer, an intelligent

1:18.8

it could determine, hey, I'm good at hammering in nails.
