I think there was a gendered bias and I think when especially women when they're

accused of harming a child, their own child, particularly they don't show

emotion. There's this kind of parlon like, well, they're not

responding the way a quote mother should and therefore they did it. I think

definitely the Lindy Chamberlain effect came into play with Kelly Lane.

She was advised not to speak.

However, I think that was a mistake by her defense counsel.

I think had the jury heard her speak,

they would have heard the intelligent, articulate woman that I have met who cared very deeply for her

children and so I think any one of us can be accused of anything and if you don't

respond the right way then some people can assume guilt.
