So we're going to go again to John Chapter 4, been doing a collection of sermons.

I literally just went like that.

That's like the biggest no-no in public speaking.

Like don't put, so anyways church, you're like doing that.

We're doing a collection of talks called at the well again,

at the well again.

And one of the reasons I've titled this at the well again.

We've been going to this ancient well that Jesus went to. It was actually

ancient even when Jesus visited. It was thousands of years old by the time Jesus was there and

of course since Jesus sat there it's now thousands of years old again. We're going to go to this well that

Jacob dug gave to his son Joseph. You can find that in Genesis 34. And it's here

Jesus is going to sit right in the middle of cultural tension, right in the middle of racism, right in the middle of

prejudice and oppression, which was so prevalent and so prominent in Jesus Day, particularly

amongst the Jews and the Samaritans.

So we're going to jump into this story where Jesus engages.

At a very unusual time of the day, Jews were not known to be in this region whatsoever.

They avoided it.

He's there at the well and he engages a Samaritan woman,

which according to the day, according to Jews in those days,

a Samaritan woman was a non-human, completely devalued, overlooked, marginalized, not educated, not celebrated, not seen.

And Jesus engages with this woman gives her dignity, love, care, elevates, even her own identity, and

...
