Jesus is going to sit right in the middle of cultural tension, right in the middle of racism, right in the middle of

prejudice and oppression, which was so prevalent and so prominent in Jesus Day, particularly

amongst the Jews and the Samaritans.

So we're going to jump into this story where Jesus engages.

At a very unusual time of the day, Jews were not known to be in this region whatsoever.

They avoided it.

He's there at the well and he engages a Samaritan woman,

which according to the day, according to Jews in those days,

a Samaritan woman was a non-human, completely devalued, overlooked, marginalized, not educated, not celebrated, not seen.

And Jesus engages with this woman gives her dignity, love, care, elevates, even her own identity, and
