Summary

Tom begins by recapping his adventures at the Dice Tower Retreat, and looks forward to the World Series of Boardgaming, before turning to the topic of figuring out what to do with your game collection after you're gone, and why it might be a good idea to make some choices sooner rather than later. Later, we share a new Tale of Boardgaming Horror, peek into the mailbag, and gather a collection of Roses, Thorns, and Hula Hoops.

Just got back from the Dice Tower retreat where I played many, many, many games.

0:55.8

Cool. That was the goal, right?

You know what, though? I seized it like a dog with a bone.

1:02.8

You know, sometimes you get caught up.

1:05.6

You were really excited leading in.

1:08.2

I was.

1:08.8

And sometimes you get caught up, though, doing other stuff and everything. And I was like, I'm going to play games. I played 34 new to me games. Really? Nice. And that's not counting games I already knew how to play, which I got a couple games in. Cosmic Encounter. Hot Street keeps getting played all over the place.

I just found out I'm teaching that it packs. Packs unplugged. I'm going to be doing like 10 tables of Hot Streak. Congratulations. Well, that's pretty easy, actually. I mean, it should be an easy teach. And it's going to be ridiculous getting 10 tables doing that at the same time. It's going to be fun. I need to dress up. Unfortunately, for Hot Street, you can't use the same deck for all the tables. Right. No, that wouldn't work. They're going to be, it's just utter chaos. Unless the tables, yeah, see, I don't know that I would do that. I might have a table talk as a group and donate a card.

2:03.2

That way they'd all cheer for their thing.

2:05.6

Because I would want to do it as a big event.

2:09.1

And I'm still debating doing this as a big event.

2:10.4

Yeah, with costumes. It requires Eric buying hot dog suit.

2:15.5

Yeah, just don't tell me until the day before.

2:17.6

Then here's your hot dog suit.
