And if you're the type who doesn't exactly love Monday mornings,

well, imagine if you were expected to work only four days a week. Huh, sounds pretty great, right? Well, that dream of unlimited three-day weekends could soon become a reality if corporate America

buys into the results of a recent experiment by Microsoft.

Last August, the tech giant tested a four-day work week at a facility in Japan.

As Bloomberg noted, it's a country notorious for overwork.

In an initiative called Work Life Choice Challenge, Microsoft Japan attempted to increase productivity

while also relieving worker stress.

The company told 2,300 employees to work only four normal length days.

For five weeks, employees took off Fridays, reducing their hours by a full 20% without any reduction in pay.
