I'd really like to tell you a bit about what we do. I'm Julie Mackenzie and I commission comedy

podcast at the BBC. It's a bit of a dream job really.

Comedy is a fantastic joyous thing to do because really you're making people laugh,

making people's days a bit better, helping them process, all manner of things.

But you know I also know that comedy is really

subjective and everyone has different tastes so we've got a huge range of comedy on offer

from satire to silly shocking to soothing profound to just general pratting about. So if you

This is at home and knocking on my door anytime now is a boxer called Richard

Reacapore.

I've never met him, never even been in the same room as him,

but I want to tell his story and tell it properly and at home is the perfect place to do so. The big splash mainstream sound bike culture means we rarely get an unrestricted

to go below the surface of someone who has that one life-changing moment.

The message and meaning gets lost often in the headline.

Podcasting's changing that, and in Richard,

we got a story that just cannot be told in 10 minutes.

So it's lucky that I've got all the time in the world.

From a childhood that saw him very nearly not make it to adulthood to a young man who decided enough was enough.

He found a different path, he found further education and he found the smell of leather and sweat.

Now he's a British and intercontinental cruiserway champion with a real chance to push on in the near future to bigger things.
