The idea behind this series is to talk to sporting names in my house or theirs and hope the surroundings allow us to go beyond their sporting achievements and understand the human being behind the headlines.

So on that note, this episode is by far the most pure example of what I imagined this series could be.

Chris Agabousie is the many in well-honed protective snippets, an extrovert with a big laugh, big heart, happy-go-lucky.

But anyone who knows and beyond that know there lies an introvert and a person with a story over 60 years in this earth which is quite mind-blowing

born the Nigerian parents brought up in a care home in London in the army at 17 leaves the Army and soon after as an athletics

world champion an Olympic medalist and outside of that he's a real thinker he's a

fine well-read mind but But as I travelled to his house, which was, I have to be honest, a surprise

that he let me into it in the first place. I felt a little more nervous than usual. I felt

that if this episode did fulfill that criteria of

honesty and openness and no agenda, it could prove to be an evening that would make all

the miles travelled on my own recording these worthwhile. And that turned out to be the case I don't usually

go into this much detail but I want to tell you that I've edited out very little just a little

bit of repetition and a couple of parts that have felt were even more personal than what you'll hear in the last 20 minutes or so.

I want you to hear as close as possible how this at home with Chris Acabousie happened as close to real time as I can and believe me it's very freewheeling. In a way it's made me think I'll move on from
