I'd like to welcome the show Dan from the Zipping Around the World podcast from

Zipping around the World dot com who's come to talk to us about Samos in the

Eastern Aegean Sea, an island in Greece.

Why are we talking about Samos?

Well, Samos is probably an island that not many Americans,

probably some Europeans have definitely heard of, but it's an amazing place that a

friend of mine that I work with has a house there and his family's from

there and and he and I have talked about it over the last five or six or seven years and

I finally got there last summer and I thought oh what a great place to let the world know about because it is just a fantastic island.

Okay, and in terms of geography we said in the Eastern Aegeans, so we are east of the mainland of Greece and we're closer to the

mainland of Turkey. We are so close to Turkey, it's about a mile and a half away

across the straight.
