in Greece.

Welcome to the amateur traveler. I'm your host Chris Christensen. Without further ado, let's talk about Crete.

I'd like to welcome Elizabeth from compass and fork.com who's come to talk to us about Crete.

Thank you. I'm very glad to be here Chris.

And why are we talking about Crete?

I think we're talking about Crete because Crete is pretty underrated in terms of the Greek islands.

And I think a lot of people overlook it as a place to go.

I agree. I was really pleased when you pitched me

Crete because we had an amazing time there and I'm surprised and I think you

are too that we don't hear about it more often. I think it's

got some of the nicest beaches in Europe which granted isn't saying a lot as I'm talking

to somebody who's spent a lot of time living in Australia, but some great

history. Yes, I agree. What kind of itinerary do you recommend? I think it

depends on what you want to go there to do. You could easily go and find a nice beach to sit on and

Crete is a huge island. It's 160 miles from one end to the other. But if I was going for the first time, I'd either go to the middle or I'd go over near Anya and I'd spend the entire week in one spot, driving to what I wanted to do.

If not, you're going to spend the whole time running around.

And we should, I guess I skipped a little bit here. We should put it on a map first.
