Welcome to the amateur traveler. I'm your host Chris Christensen. Before we get into

this week's interview I do have three news stories for you. In some sad news

although I didn't know them, I have friends who did.

Two British bloggers died on a world cycling journey,

and they were killed in Thailand.

The reason I bring it up is most people will picture bandits

or something like that when they hear that headline, but the danger

for cyclists when you're abroad, as the danger is when you're here, is traffic and they unfortunately

were killed in a traffic accident. In an odd story, a travel writer was booted off a United Airlines flight because he took

a picture of his seat.

The flight attendant pointed out a page in United's Hemisphere magazine that says the use of still in video cameras, film or digital, including

cellular other devices, is permitted only for recording of personal events and apparently the

seat wasn't considered a personal event.

As somebody who used to be in charge of the development of the

Seat Guru product where we encouraged people to take pictures of their seats, I'm stunned.
