Amateur Traveler episode 322. Today the amateur traveler talks about food and

festivals and cliff diving as we go to Poulia in Italy. The Goliath in Italy.

I know that I should be heading home.

But maybe not, maybe not to the amateur traveler. I'm your host Chris Christensen. Before we get

into this week's interview I do have three news stories for you. The first one is a

disturbing story that comes out of Denver. There was a problem

with a plane, United Flight 5912, that was landing in Denver when suddenly the cockpit on this

snowy day started to fill up with smoke and the pilot called for an emergency.

But the problem got exacerbated because the control tower heard the wrong flight number and heard United 12, didn't know of any

United 12, and thought this was all a joke. And so instead of rolling emergency

equipment, they did not.

And so they did not roll emergency equipment when they should have.

Fortunately, everybody got off the flight okay and there was no serious problem.

But it could have been a bad situation.

Another strange situation in the Denver Airport this week was a woman who was asked to stop smoking,

but instead took off all her clothes.

We don't know why, but it's thought that she had some sort of breakdown.

Now that's an unusual addiction to smoking.

And then speaking of people disrobing, there were 200 students who were stranded

on their way back from a ski trip in the Alps because they
