Summary

The Amateur Traveler talks to George Wendt from Oars.com about white water rafting down the Grand Canyon which is one of Chris’s dream vacations. The Grand Canyon can be traversed in motor pontoon boats, oars rafts, paddle boats or dories. Each has different advantages and disadvantages. The water is fast and cold and the rapids get up to class 5. All the while you are drifting through one of the wonders of the world with massive red stone walls on either side. You come around the corner and are surprised by waterfalls and a green oasis. You explore the side canyons where you can see fossils and the ruins of the ancient people who called this canyon home. 0:39.0	The first story is about a freakish tragedy that happened recently. A cruise ship was hit by a 30-foot wave
0:46.7	and a few passengers were killed. Now this sounds like something out of the Poseidon adventure
0:51.9	and you'd think it would be related to the tidal
0:54.6	wave caused by the earthquake in Chile but it wasn't it was caused by storms in the
0:59.7	Mediterranean just this last Wednesday. The second story is also freakish but not tragic. A
1:06.4	pilot was arrested for flying a 737 with a fake license.
1:13.7	Media reports say that the 41-year-old Swedish man was in the cockpit of a Corindon Airlines
1:18.7	Boeing 737 preparing to take off from Amsterdam to Ankara and Dutch police boarded the jet and
1:25.2	arrested him on a tip from Swedish authorities but he had been flying on this fake
1:29.4	license for 13 years. Good to know we check those carefully.
