Before we get into today's interview,

I have a few news stories for you.

In the first news story, it's tough to be an airline these

days with the rising price of jet fuel and fierce competition. We've seen two and a

half airlines go out of business. I say two and a half because ATA

airlines and Aloha Airlines have both announced that they are closing their

doors and then Alitalia looks like they might be close behind after failing to do a deal with Air France.

So what is an airline to do?

Well they can't really raise airfares without finding it difficult to compete against the other airlines so they're

finding other ways to add charges.

I've got an article up on trippingator.com called air travel a la carte which has a number of

different stories about additional fees. We've talked about $25 to check a second bag,

but we're actually getting airlines like Air Canada that's going to charge for

customer service. This comes from a story from the Star. Air Canada said
