Summary

The Astroworld tragedy has spawned hundreds of lawsuits, a Congressional investigation, and another celebrity interview set against a background of litigation. I was very surprised to learn in the Congressional letter that there are reports that Live Nation is alleged to be withholding pay from employees until they sign a new employment agreement that includes a new release of liability….seriously.  Travis Scott’s legal team has also started filing answers to the lawsuits and has asked for cases to be dismissed. There was a lot made in the media about these requests to dismiss but they are just the next proper legal step in these cases. There is a lot to talk about with the interview because Travis Scott said a lot of words….but didn’t say much.

Key Takeaways

  • It’s being alleged that Live Nation is withholding pay from employees until they sign a new employment agreement that includes a new release of liability provision
  • Congress wants to know why the concert wasn’t stopped sooner and what could have been done to prevent this tragedy
  • Travis Scott says he was told to end the concert and did so.
  • Travis Scott states that he relied on the professionals and feels responsible to get to the bottom of what happened. He did not say that he feels personally responsible as an artist.
