After a slow start, the Astros are five games up in the AL West.

Again, another chance at being one of the heavy teams in the playoffs.

Jeff Erickson here with Jen Pia Chente. I was thinking like, okay, who's my Astros go to person?

It's Jen. That's right. She is a big Astros fan. So we can talk about that. And she does baseball. She does football. She does everything. She does that, you know, sports, those shows videos. She does Sirius XM. Jen, thank you for spending some of your time with me today. Thanks for thinking of me.

I mean, I hope you guys don't hold it against me

that I am the first person that Jeff thought of when he thinks of the Astros.

But it's a good thing.

They're my team.

Look, you got a ride with the good and the bad.

So hopefully.

I think if people are still holding trash can gate against you personally, I mean, after all these years, I mean, they get another hot. I don't personally, but like, I got to tell you, like the trash can jokes are getting tired. Yeah, I agreed. It's only because Altuvae and Bregman are still there and they're still good. And that's the thing know, that, that's the thing that's frustrating.

And, you know, the A's never got over the top. So A's fans ate them. But, I mean, Rangers fans, what do they have to be upset about? I mean, other than this season, but that's not Astros related. The Yankees had their own cheating system. The Red Sox had their own cheating system. 100%. You know. Thank you. Let's moving on, you know, because there's a lot more.

I just think they're a fascinating team because they didn't do a whole lot this off season. Another new manager, they didn't add big at the trade deadline. Their big thing in the in the off season was Josh Hater, but this is a different build for them a little bit. And here where they are again.

Yeah, it is a very different build for them.

They are a very interesting organization.

You know, the two big moves, you know, they made in off-season recently, obviously the

Hater contract, which wasn't overpay, in my opinion, but you know, that is what it is.

And then the Jose Abray, the contract, which I'm sure we've talked about.

That was horrible. That was when they were between general managers.

And unfortunately, I believe Jeff Bagwell was in Jim Crane's ear and making some decisions for the team that shouldn't have been made.
