| 0:18.0 | Astronomy Cast Episode 230 from Monday, April 25, 2011. Christian Hoygens. |
| 0:25.0 | Welcome to Astronomy Cast, our weekly facts-based journey through the cosmos to help you understand not only what we know, but how we know what we know. |
| 0:32.0 | My name is Fraser Cain, I'm the publisher of University Day, and with me is Dr. Pamela Gaia Professor at Southern Illinois University, Everett's Fill. |
| 0:39.0 | Pamela, how are you doing? |
| 0:41.0 | I'm doing well, how are you doing Fraser? |
| 0:43.0 | Doing really well. So this is the third live show that we've done, and by live I mean we're doing it as a Google Hangout. |
| 0:51.0 | So, you know, but once a week we all connect as a Hangout, and eight of our closest friends can watch as we record the show. |
| 1:00.0 | We typically answer some questions beforehand, and stick around, and answer questions afterwards. |
| 1:07.0 | So it's quite a lot of fun, and so if you're listening to this episode, and you want to get involved, probably the best way is to get a Google plus account, and then add me and or Pamela as friends. |
| 1:20.0 | If you don't have a G plus account, then I would suggest you email me, probably me not Pamela, Fraser Cain at gmail.com and say, give me a Google plus invite please. |
| 1:31.0 | I will send you the invite, and then also add you to the circle so that you can get notified when we do these live recordings. |
| 1:38.0 | And hopefully down the road, they'll add more people to the Hangout, so we'll have more people being able to listen. |
| 1:44.0 | And we are working on figuring out how to do things like share it through you stream via cam twist or something like that. |
| 1:51.0 | We're just not quite there yet, and nor is our bandwidth. |
| 1:54.0 | Yeah, well this was just so easy, so convenient. |
| 1:57.0 | We can kind of stick around and chat with people, so if people want us to do more of this, we'll figure out some long term solution. |
| 2:05.0 | I like the ones that don't require a lot of effort and expense, which is what this does. |
| 2:11.0 | Okay, all right, well, so now we finish our trilogy of Saturnian astronomers and missions with a look at the Dutch astronomer and mathematician Chris John Huygens. |
| 2:20.0 | It was Huygens who discovered Titan and figured out what Saturn's rings really are, so it makes sense that a probe landing on the surface of Titan was named after him. |
| 2:29.0 | All right, Pamela, so this was great. I mean, we did the first episode we did on Cassini, the guy who did some of the best observations of Saturn. |
