My name is Fraser Cain, I'm the publisher of the universe today, and with me is Dr. Pamela Gay, a professor at Southern Illinois University, Eversville.

Hi Pamela, how you doing?

I'm doing well, how are you doing Fraser?

Good, 200 episodes.

Yes, it's, wow, how did we get here?

It was not really 200 episodes because we had all the questions shows, so it's actually 200, I don't even know how many it is.

It's 200 and a lot.

200 and a lot, but two official astronomy cast episodes.

Yeah, so we were thinking like, oh, should do something really special for episode 200.

And our big idea was to update everybody on the science, so like what is new from when we started the show until now?

And transformatively new, we're not talking about like, yeah, Hershel found a many expletive number of planets, bounce bounce.

It's awesome, but yeah, the same technology we talked about before.

Right, but I think the problem is that as we've been doing the show, we've been blending in the most recent science results.

Yeah.

And so a lot of trouble, figure it out.

Anything that's really substantively new since we started recording, it's kind of weird.

It's kind of awesome, too, because one of the things that we've tried to do from the beginning is make the show as timeless as possible,

so that new listeners newly discovering as can go back and start with show one and just power through.
