The first leg of my Vegas residency at area 15 and getting ready to launch a big national tour and everything and a lot of fun opportunities have come up along the way.

I've met some cool people since being here and one of them is Andrew Kerr, who is the head of the Las Vegas Planetarium.

Yep. We're the Dale Atheridge Planetarium. We just got renamed last year for the first and only other manager of the Planetarium.

It's been 46 years or something like that and I'm only the second manager of the Planetarium.

Yep. So my predecessor was there for 38 years.

What were Planetariums like 46 years ago?

Well actually very similar to what we have today with one big exception.

No, it's actually okay because the major difference of course is the idea of the digital Planetarium versus the old starball.

So the old star projectors which everybody tends to think of as being in the Planetarium, you know, the two spheres, one on each side and the stars being projected on the dome that way.

That's one of the biggest differences and it's not even a difference in some Planetariums because some Planetariums still maintain their starballs.

There are some Planetarium folks who absolutely prefer the starball look for the stars in the sky.
