This is the baseball tonight podcast for Wednesday, September 6, 2023, and today will be

better than yesterday. Taylor Schwenke is working back in Connecticut so Bruce Baldwin

and Sarah Abbott has returned. Sarah, welcome back to the show.

Thank you. It's so good to be back. I had quite an of that poll vacation, but I'm so

happy to be back in the swing of things. Well, you took on a hurricane and we need to

explore that a little later in the podcast if that's okay. Yes. Yes, definitely.

All right. I'm Buster only working for my home in Montana. I want to open a day show

with some thoughts about Chris Mortensen, who announced on social media yesterday that

he's stepping away from ESPN. He has been an amazing teammate. People don't know about

Chris because they know I'm pretty much through his football reporting that at one point

he was a baseball reporter. He covered the Atlanta Braves. He is a great guy, incredibly

helpful in my time at ESPN. From time to time, I'll get an email from him with a tip,

with thoughts, with some perspective. He's been nothing but positive and all the time

that I've known him. I'm sure that great days ahead for Chris and he moves into the next

chapter of his life. I just want everybody to know just an amazing teammate.

In early 10 Texas yesterday, the center of the baseball world because we're seeing the

series between the Astros and the Rangers. It felt like a fight for the top of the American

league. West as the series began and right now, it feels like an absolute wipe out. Nathan

of Aldi made his first start for the Rangers yesterday off the injured list. His first appearance

in about five weeks in Jose Al Tubey. Absolutely crushed him in his first two-played appearances.

Aldi working for the first base out of the rubber delivers and Al Tubey rockets one deep

to left field and sends back Grossman at the wall looking up. See you later.
