Let me ask you to turn in your Bible to the Gospel of Matthew chapter 8.

I want us to look at an account that gives a great description of the meaning of obedience.

What is obedience? And here's a great picture in Matthew chapter 8, beginning in verse 5. When Jesus entered

Copernum, a centurion, that's a Roman soldier who was responsible for a hundred soldiers,

centurion came forward to him, appealing to him. Lord, my servant is lying, paralyzed at home,

suffering terribly. And Jesus said to him, I will come and heal him.

But the centurion replied, Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof,

And here's the description of obedience.
