Summary

Pest control is important.  Otherwise you get raccoons eating your trash, turkeys taking over your yard, and professional athletes saying $44 million a year isn't enough.  You have to stay on top of these things.  If you have a professional athlete problem, the best thing you can do is turn off the TV and stop buying tickets.  It may seem cruel, but if you ignore the problem you'll end up with tons of them, and then they'll all starve to death come winter.  And by "starve to death" I mean "retire at the age of 25".
