We've driven down to muskets for quite a long time looking for a safe place to talk and

with parks now we've finally chosen a street which we think is the safest street away from

the secret service.

I'm Tim Huell in the Syrian capital for assignment on the BBC World Service, more than 10 months

into an uprising that's seen the deaths of nearly 6,000 people, mostly anti-government protesters,

but also increasingly members of the security forces too.

I'm meeting one young opposition activist who didn't give her name.

No, I want to ask you because I know you're involved in the uprising.

How is it organized?

Okay, after 10 months of the revolution, we built a network and a grand network where

everybody is somehow connected to a different group.

Most of the people that we work together, they've been arrested.

Most of them they were tortured all the time.

It's like very risky, every step you do.

You never know when you might arrested, you never know when your friend might

get arrested, you never know if one of the groups get arrested there is a risk of the

rest of the group because under torture they might say names.

And that's happened to many of your friends?

Many of my friends, yeah.
