Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham right here on Talk Radio.

So here we are then. We find ourselves yet again at another crossroads this morning.

The sun is shining, the public are out and about, the cyclists are moving about en masse.

It can only mean one thing. It's time to get everything back to normal, isn't it?

More and more conversations are being

had by people who are quite frankly ignoring the advice of the brothers grim, witty and valence,

and simply getting on with their lives. The sage advisors are still banging on about the modelling,

still wreaking havoc on the economy with wild abandon, and still issuing dire warnings

about what might go horribly wrong later in the summer.

Meanwhile, our former European partners have decided it's a good time for countries to stand

together, to cooperate with one another and fight the pandemic together.

Well, that's nice, isn't it?

It certainly makes a change.

Only last week, they were urging export bans on vaccines, and a couple of months ago,

they threatened to erect a hard border in Northern Ireland. Still, at least we've got a brand new briefing room to watch Boris Johnson in and

it only costs 2.6 million quid. As Michael Deakin said the telegraph this morning, how could

something so expensive end up looking so cheap? We'll be asking George Pascoe, what's

a former glistcle, editor of the Sun, now chairman of Portland Communications, what he made of
